About
My Story
I have been a writer/producer/exec.producer/creator of television series since 1961 when I was a staff writer on the first BOB NEWHART show, a half hour comedy/variety show. I bounced around for a few years after that until I became the sole staff writer on THE MAN FROM UNCLE and I wrote the screenplay for the pilot of Columbo.
Thereafter, I created and produced Matlock (NBC), Jake and the Fatman (CBS), the Father Dowling Mysteries (ABC), McBride, Jane Doe and Murder 101 (HALLMARK CHANNEL). I wrote and Produced Thirty Three PERRY MASON MOVIES (NBC) Exec Produced series and TV movies in the UK (BBC, CHANNEL FOUR, ITV), Italy (MEDIASET) and Brazil (TV GLOBO)-co-produced with SONY INTERNATIONAL TELEVISION.So.
These are a few highlights, a complete list is on view under the home page.
At the moment I am developing a radio podcast series, THE TRIALS OF JOHNNIE COCHRAN and a potential British series BREAKING NEWS – THE TRIAL OF JOAN OF ARC.
However, these pursuits don’t occupy all my waking hours and would like to be connected with people who have an interest in television generally and writing and producing specifically. I think my years of experience could be of some value and would enjoy the discourse. For example, the Television Academy did film some interviews with me and you could sample some of them by going to YouTube and entering my name.
